Dr Emma Jones MBBS, MSc, MA, FRCSEd, MRCP, FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who combines more than 25 years of internationally recognised expertise with an approach that puts patients genuinely at ease. As Deputy Service Lead for Moorfields Glaucoma Service and previously the Associate Dean for Leadership in London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex with Health Education England, she trains specialist surgeons across the region, and has been the Head of School for London Ophthalmology Training, while ensuring every patient receives the clear communication and personalised care that has earned recognition through Clinical Excellence Awards.

Based at two of London’s most respected locations – Moorfields Eye Hospital and Clinica London on Harley Street – Emma specialises in cataract surgery for patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension, where the choice of approach is complex and individual to each patient. Her experience includes caring for patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring cultural sensitivity and clear communication that patients from across the UK and internationally value.

Training and qualifications

Medical education foundation

Emma’s path to becoming a specialist began with her MBBS and BSc in genetics from the University of London, followed by advanced training through the Royal Colleges. Her glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital provided the foundation for managing some of the most challenging eye conditions referred from across the UK and beyond.

Commitment to education

Her commitment to education led to completing a Master’s degree in education from Queen Mary University of London, reflecting her passion for training the next generation of surgeons and improving patient care through teaching excellence.
